Roles & Descriptions



Leads:

Leads are tasked with organizing volunteers for each of their departments.  leads will create the volunteer work schedules for each of their departments. Leads will be tasked with assigning volunteers to their roles (i.e. shift volunteer, etc.). Leads will check on, all radios, clip boards, tools, etc that are needed for their department. Leads will be held accountable for ensuring all equipment is returned and back in its home after each shift.



Leads Roles & Descriptions


Fire Safety:

Assists with fire perimeter protection at sanctioned burns, remediates unintentional fires throughout the duration of the event, and inspects all fire art. And contact the fire department.


Burn Build:

Responsible for designing the Major Burnable Structure (MBS). And coordinate with the Temple lead, and coordinate with build volunteers, transportation, and construction of MBS  on site.


Gate:

Staffs event entrance and perimeter, manages wrist bands, performs vehicle searches, and manages flow of traffic into and out of the event.


Security:

Hiring and communicating with security before, during and after.


Department of Public Works (DPW):

Are the back bones. They help with the set up, and take down of infrastructure, placing signs, and site improvement.


Leave No Trace (LNT):

Performs on site and post-event clean up, restoring the event site to its original (or better) state.


Sanctuary:

Provides a safe, quiet space and supportive care for participants who are not in medical danger.


Rangers:

To help when you got a question or have a problem.


Greeters:

Welcome all attendees to the event, create excitement, atmosphere and fun through costumes, warm welcomes, and hugs (spankings available upon request).


Ambassadors:

Greets and assists event participants as they arrive, staff information booth, and manages lost and found.


Placement:

Is responsible for theme camp placement, event layout, and art placement, and sound camps.


Fire Conclave:

Coordinates with fire spinners and other performers and assists with their ability to perform safely throughout the event and during major burns.


Center Camp Build:

In charge of construction and transportation of center camp. 


Center Camp Activities:

Coordinates with volunteers and leads for organizing activities at Center Camp.


WWW:

Responsible for coordinating with theme camps about the schedule of events, creating and printing a What-When-Where guide.


Volunteer Coordinator:

Coordinates with volunteers and helps to connect them to departments of interest.


 Hospitality (VOHO):

Provides support to other departments via snack, drink, and potluck.


Medical:

Coordinates with local emergency response teams, EMTs/paramedics for the event.


Path Lighters:

In charge of lighting the pathways, and signs for visibility and safety during evening hours.


Ticketing/Scholarships:

Manages tickets processing, vehicle passes, and will call. Works to establish scholarships for event tickets.


Art  Coordinator:

Liaison for artists, helps with placement grants and artist inquiries.
